Ron Tate completed his BA in Fine Arts at Brigham
Young University in 1967. He was nominated as
Artist the Year at Dixie State College in 1963. He
has been trained as a Spencerian Penman by Mike
Sull at the Spencerian Saga in 1990. He teaches art
at a Salt Lake Community College while working as a
full-time calligrapher. He served as the
calligrapher for the State of Utah under the
direction of the Governor with his appointed
offices providing beautiful resolutions and
completing thousands of projects. He continues to
design wedding invitations and perform calligraphic
services for clients throughout the United States,
Canada, Europe, Africa and numerous other
countries. He is an experienced engraver for
numerous stores and individuals desiring unique
items engraved in glass or metal. Ron has been
teaching classes in private schools, colleges and
individual instruction since 1983.

Ron exhibits the small detailed slight of hand as he carefully shows step-by-step how to make the letters that were developed long ago. Included in the DVDs are some of the work and actual pens used by the masters themselves.
