Ziller Classic Glossy Black Ink Powder

was originally called Elegant Glossy Black Ink Powder. The earliest record we have of the ink being sold is in 1898 in the Penman's Art Journal ads.

The ink was formulated specifically for steel dip pens to achieve a fine hairline and a thick glossy broad stroke.

The images within our 3 galleries have been made by a variety of artisans using only Ziller Inks or combining the Ziller Inks with other mediums.

These image include lettering, marbling, paste paper, plastic wrap and tyvek paper techniques.

He had the largest mail order penmanship school in the country. These methods were used to teach an estimated 40,000 students during the first part of the 20th century. He covers cursive writing, Spencerian (artistic), copperplate, several broad pen styles and flourishing.

Vivian and Richard Mungall, the third caretakers of the studio, have been creating awards, certificates, diplomas, poems, charters, mission statements and more since 1985.

Vivian was selected as a Master Penman at 2002 IAMPETH Convention (International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting).
